What do connected persons assessments include?
All of our connected persons assessments pay particular attention to:

Arrangements regarding contact between the child and the birth parents;

The nature of the child’s and the kinship carers’ continued relationship and attachment with the birth parent(s) and how this may affect the order;

Any potential risks of harm to the child and carer arising from this arrangement;

Criminal records checks are carried out on carer and anyone 16 years, and over, who resides in the home;

Full medical check with doctor.

What else is included?

A synopsis of risk and protective factors;

A genogram;
-
A financial overview;
-
An assessment of support and supervision needs.

Assessment Process?

First home visit within 7 days of receiving all referral documents

Assessment schedule agreed between social worker and the parent(s)

A copy of the agreement is submitted to the instructing party
-
Social worker will meet with parents, together and separately, child/ren, school and other professionals, as relevant.

Timescales
-
All connected persons assessments are completed within 10 -12 weeks
-
Accelerated assessments can be completed within 6 - 8 weeks for an additional fee.
